Founder of the company, Frank Ningbo Zhao, was a middle school teacher for 7 years teaching in southwest China. He then worked with Taiwanese shoe factories in south China before being hired by Reebok to work in its R&D office in south China in 1993. In 1994, Frank was hired as an interpreter for American bowling technicians installing a bowling center near Hong Kong. In 1996 Frank established his own company, Tonglin Construction Technology Co., Ltd., working closely with American Bowling Corporation, Hoge Lumber and DBA Products, etc. During this period, now known as the ‘China Bowling Boom’ Frank’s team installed over 1,000 lanes in China.

In the year of 2000, Frank commenced reading for a Master Degree in Business Administration with Napier University, Scotland. Frank was awarded with the MBA degree, when he returned to China and resumed his bowling career. 

In 2003, with a determination to build the best bowling company in the world, Frank founded Longmarch Bowling. Frank understood there would be a long way to go, which was why he named the company ‘Longmarch’.

In the last few years, Longmarch has been selling refurbished bowling equipment, pinsetter parts, and consumable bowling products such as balls, shoes and pins. Used equipment has been its major business success. Longmarch buys equipment from defunct bowling centers all over China, and then rebuilds the equipment in its factory in Shanghai. As the business grew, it became apparent that a new commercial vehicle was necessary to support the European and Middle East markets. In late 2005,  Longmarch Bowling Products Limited was established in UK. ( www.longmarch.co.uk )

In October 2006, Longmarch installed facilities and started manufacturing bowling balls. It is now manufacturing both polyester and urethane balls with free ball design service.  to know more about it

Longmarch understands the importance of quality and responsibility. When reconditioning the used equipment, Longmarch extensively tests each of the mechanical and electrical parts and ensures they function same as new. These strict quality controls also apply when developing and making new parts and materials.

Most of the Longmarch employees have been in the industry several years, quite of few of them have worked with Frank for over 10 years. Longmarch attached great importance on employee training and development. All employees can use the company’s Learning Center where books, news paper, and computers with internet access are supplied. The company encourages all its employees to take computer skill training courses, English language courses, and other training programs.
